What is Broke the app?
Broke the app is a great introduction to the struggle with poverty in the United States. In each 10 minute round of this poverty simulation, players choose a character and receive texts, emails and news bulletins pertinent to that character’s situation. Each response to a text or an email affects both the player’s bank balance as well as their community support.
How it works?
Download Broke and you can start to choose a character. Interact with your landlord, your sister, or your neighbor down the street via email and text, and Make decisions and see if you can keep your bank balance in the green and your friends and family in your corner.
